New Makeup Wishlist

After I did my high end MAC wishlist, I thought I'd change things up a bit and show my current 'drug store' makeup loves, all the stuff I will hopefully buy in my next few trips to Superdrug or Boots!

1. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Of course everyone is banging on about it and as I'm finding my current MUA concealer slightly drying, I fancy giving this one a go!
2. No. 17 Instant Glow Body Bronzer - I absolutely love No. 17's Instant Fake Tan but I can't seem to find it anymore, so I'll try out their newer one instead.
3. Collection Fix Me Up Spray
4. MUA Pro Brow Kit - This is a new product from MUA and I'm want to try it, but will compare it to the Sleek one in store, and this ones a fiver cheaper.
5. MUA Lipstick in Shade 13
6. MUA Lipstick in Shade 16 Nectar
7. Sleek Lipstick in Peaches and Cream
8. Lipcote
9. Sleek Brow Kit in Dark - Like I said above, when I'm in Superdrug I'll compare it with the MUA kit and see which I prefer.
10. Sleek Blush in Rose Gold - The infamous NARS Orgasm dupe, I must get this soon!
11. Sleek Face Contour Kit
12. Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara - Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi) raves about this mascara and you can never have too many so I'm going to try it.

Let me know if you have any of these items, and what's on your wishlist!
You can leave any comments or questions below, or chat to me on twitter.

2. Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle - £21.50
3. Eyeshadow in Woodwinked - £12.00
4. Eyeshadow in Naked Lunch - £12.00
5. Eyeshadow in Carbon - £12.00
6. Eyeshadow in Mulch - £12.00

The Liebster Blog Award

I've been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by the lovely Terri Bacon, if you haven't checked out her blog before you definitely should, it was so sweet of her to nominate me!

The Rules:
1. Each person must list 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the 11 questions that the tagger has set for you. You must create a new set of 11 questions for the people you nominate.
3. Choose up to 11 bloggers to nominate, linking them in your post.
4. Go to their blog and inform them of their nomination.
5. Absolutely no tag backs.
6. Remember to only tag bloggers with less than 200 followers.

11 things about myself...

1. I'm 20 years old, but I still get ID'd everywhere I go.
2. I'm studying Journalism at UCLan, about to go into my 3rd year.
3. I live in Rotherham, I can say bad things about it but you can't.
4. I currently have two cats, but I'd have 10 if I could, and lots of Chihuahuas and Greyhounds.
5. I spend most of my money on gigs, even more than clothes or make-up.
6. I eat vegetarian meals but can't ever say no to Nando's chicken.
7. I can't have the TV volume on an odd number.
8. I'm equal amounts OCD and an absolute slob.
9. I'm perpetually single.
10. I love my Mum more than life itself. I can't imagine my world without her.
11. I love films, but I actively avoid ones that are over hyped.

11 questions from Terri...

1. What are your three staple make-up products?
Foundation, eyeliner and lipstick. I'd feel like my face could be finished with just those three things.
2. What made you start blogging?
Honestly, it was a requirement on my course in first year. That blog became my music one and then I decided to set up a beauty and fashion blog because I enjoy reading others and talking about it.
3. Your favourite place to go on holiday, and why?
Well I haven't been to many places, but definitely Paris. The city itself is beautiful, great shopping and of course there's Disneyland Paris!
4. If you could only use one item of make-up, and wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would that be and why?
This is difficult! I need foundation when my skin is bad, like right now, but I feel like I look half asleep without eyeliner, so I'd have to choose that! I'd probably choose my burgundy skater dress, leather jacket, leggings and ankle boots - it can work dressy or casual and warm or cool.
5. Name two of your favourite blogs at the minute and give a reason why?
An all time favourite is Llymlrs, I'm constantly checking her blog, and a new one would be Vicky's blog Daily Hoot!
6. What is one thing you wish you owned and why?
My own car, and the money to insure it. It's soul destroying catching buses and trains when I can drive, just can't afford insurance on my Mums car, never mind my own!
7. Do you have a favourite item of clothing? If so, what is it and why?
My Primark leather jacket! It's battered, was really cheap, and now I've studded it I love it even more!
8. Explain your skin care routine.
In the morning, I use my Neutrogena Grapefruit Daily Scrub, my Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Facewash, then finish off with my Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash.
In the evenings I remove my make-up with a Simple cleansing wipe, I'll use a Simple Spotless Skin Quick Fix cleansing wipe if I'm having breakouts. Then I use my new additions - Lancôme Galatéis Douceur and Tonique Douceur - these have changed my life. Then I'll use the Simple moisturising wash again.
9. Are you a shoe or a bag person? Or maybe both?
Oh definitely both! Wedges and flats are my shoe obsessions, I can't handle heels unfortunately, and I just lust after so many bags people have had to drag me away from displays, especially in River Island...
10. Who or what is your style inspiration?
I don't have any specific inspiration, I read lots of magazines and blogs and if I see something that looks nice on someone then I do some research and try and find a way that it would work for me. I definitely don't follow all trends, like you'll never catch me wearing creepers (ugh) but I'm guilty of falling hard for army jackets and getting my own.
11. Is there a quote or saying that you hold on to? What is it and why?
Well I have 'Never Lose Your Flames' on my bedroom wall, a lyric written by Tyler Carter formerly of Woe, Is Me, and I love that, I feel like it means you should always stay strong and true to yourself and not dull your shine for anybody else. I can't think of anything else that isn't ridiculously cliché.

I nominate...

1. Vicky, Daily Hoot
2. Nicola, itsneecola
3. Jessica, Powder Blue
4. Helen, Beautifully Superfluous
5. Victoria, VikBeauty
6. Danielle, FloralDanielle

My 11 questions to them...

1. If you could only buy clothes from one shop, which would it be and why?
2. Do you have any piercings or tattoos and what are they? If no, do you want any?
3. What is your Saturday night dancefloor song?
4. Do you have any weird quirks or obsessions?
5. What is your guilty pleasure film?
6. Sweet or salted popcorn?
7. What is your favourite thing to write about on your blog?
8. Which band/artist would you most love to see live?
9. Are you a morning or night person?
10. If you could go on holiday anywhere tomorrow, where would it be and why?
11. Could you go through a normal day at school/university/work without make-up?

Hope you enjoyed reading this, thanks again to Terri for the nomination!

Mini Boots Haul!

Eco-tools Buffing Brush £9.99
Collection 2000 Colour Match Foundation £3.99
VO5 Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder
and Tousled Style Spray 2 for £5

I didn't have too much money to spend, but I managed to get a few of the items from my shopping list post. I absolutely fell in love with this Collection 2000 foundation, I can't believe it's on offer for only £3.99!

I've decided that when my MaxFactor runs out I'm moving onto Bourjois Healthy Mix for my heavier coverage foundation. The texture is just so gorgeous and it blended so nicely when I swatched it on my wrist. I also tried the Revlon Colorstay foundation but for £12.49 I don't know if it's worth it, and I don't know if I exactly match either the 2nd or 3rd shade. I'd rather invest in MAC Face and Body that I can get matched to my skin tone and that will last a lot longer, but that won't be for awhile anyway.

I'm excited to have a buffing brush to add to my collection, hopefully it will give more even coverage than just a standard foundation brush, and Eco-Tools are pretty good quality for the price.

Boots had an offer on 2 V05 styling products for £5, so I decided on the Instant Oomph Powder and Tousled Style Spray to work with my naturally wavy hair. I also thought these products would be fun to try out with my new Remington Pearl Pro Styler - a little bit of an impulse buy from an old Fleur DeForce video but as it's half price on Amazon, how could I resist?

I hope you enjoyed my little haul, as always if you have any comments or questions you can leave them below, or chat to me on twitter!

Weekly Wants #4

1. Kiss Flag Print Top - Miss Selfridge, £24.00
2. Black Fedora - Forever 21, £8.90
3. Skull Stretch Bracelet - ASOS, £8.00
4. Cat Face Pumps - Missguided, £23.99
5. Bumble and Bumble Texture Creme - Want The Look, £8.93

Weekly Total - £73.82

For some reason every thing is a little bit dark this week. I must be unintentionally channelling my inner goth teenager! It's also another relatively cheap list this week, I had to stop myself from putting a Mulberry bag and Pandora charm bracelet on there - got to keep things semi realistic.

I will mostly likely buy all of this stuff at some point, even the Forever 21 Fedora which I'd like to think I could pull off, but I'd probably just end up looking like a Demi Lovato wannabe (which I kind of am...)

What do you think of my Weekly Wants? Do you have or also covet any of these items? Let me know in the comments or you can always chat to me on twitter!

Beauty Shopping List!

I'm going on a mini shopping spree with my Mum on Saturday, yes this is a huge deal because she hates shopping centres with a passion so getting her to come with me is a rare event - I'm bribing her with Nando's!

I'll be calling into Boots and Superdrug to look at some things, so I thought I'd make a list here of all the stuff I want to get but don't want to risk ordering them online.

1. New Foundation

Don't worry, I'm still sticking with my old faithful MaxFactor, but I want to test out a few more and see if they could be possible alternatives when I don't fancy a full matte face. The choices I'm looking at are Maybelline Superstay 24 hour, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Rimmel Wake Me Up and Revlon ColorStay.

2. VO5 Hair Products

I borrowed my lovely best friend Lindsay's VO5 Instant Oomph Powder when my hair just wouldn't behave the other week, and it really worked so I'm going to stock up on some of their products that been raved about, like the Hot Oil Shower treatment or the Tousled Style spray.

3. Collection 2000 treats

I'm in love with my Collection 2000 lipsticks so I'm going to see if there's any other colours I fancy, and my Mum needs a new kohl eyeliner.

4. A Fake Orgasm?!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist! I've heard that Sleek blush in Rose Gold is a pretty good dupe for Nars Orgasm, and seeing as that is so far out of my price range right now, I thought I'd give the cheaper alternative a try!

If I ended up buying anything that's good I'll obviously talk about it on here.
If you've tried any of these products and want to give me your opinion that would be awesome, you can leave a comment below or chat to me on twitter!

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty!

I know this tag has been going around the Youtube beauty "gurus" for months, but I see no reason why a blogger can't get involved too. It looks fun, even though the lust question is strange as it's nothing to do with make-up, but I'm just gonna roll with it!

GREED - What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

The most inexpensive beauty item I own would be all of my MUA stuff that costs £1, the pressed powder, blusher and bronzer! Such a deal!
The most expensive beauty product is probably the Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows palette which I think cost £36. It was a present to myself before I started my first year at Uni, and at least there's lots of different eye shadows in it so it's not just ONE thing.

WRATH - What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

False eyelashes! I love to wear them but I can rarely get a pair that fit along my lash line properly, my eyes are usually too wide, and then the glue never works properly and I can see them out of the corner of my eye - argh! I suffer through the annoyance cause they're so pretty.

GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products?
My passionfruit and grapefruit shower gel, and my Body Shop coconut body butter and scrub. Two very different scents but I just want to eat them both. (Not recommended!)

SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Oh fake tan definitely. I will use it if I'm off on a big night out, but it takes forever to get right, then it rains or you get a drink spilt on you so it goes streaky and it ruins my white sheets at Uni - worst purchase ever!!

PRIDE - What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Probably a really bright lipstick, or fake tan when I do bother to use it!

LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

(The black sheep question!) They have to be tall, I tend to prefer dark hair, I love a great sense of humour - cause I'm usually giddy and hyper so I need someone who can keep up with the banter, and it helps if they're a bit of a nerd and like different types of music. So not much ;)

ENVY - What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Perfume is always great as a gift, cause it's something I don't buy for myself very often unless it's a great bargain, and my personal favourite Paco Rabanne Black XS is pretty pricey.

I tag everybody reading this! If you have any comments or questions you can leave them below and you can always chat to me on twitter!

MUA Haul!

Brush On Concealer, Lipsticks Shade 3 and 12, Flair Eyelashes,
Bronzer Shade 1, Pressed Powder Shade 2 and Blusher Shade 2

Like most girls I know, I'm currently in love with MUA! I've bought so much from them in the past few months, I feel like I've almost doubled my make up collection with their bargains.

You just don't expect such good quality products for £1 - all this stuff came to less than a tenner, which absolutely blows my mind.

I bought the Vixen lashes awhile back and they are some of my favourites, so I'm trying Flair out as a less dramatic pair.

I tried the pressed powder, bronzer and blusher today when I went to the hairdressers and they work together for a lovely day time look. It probably wouldn't be enough for full coverage on a night out, but you could always combine them with liquid foundation. I was also really impressed with the brush on concealer - it's the perfect shade for my skin and covered up my under eye greyness.

I'm very excited to use these lipsticks, they are so rich and creamy. Shade 12 is a gorgeous summery pink and Shade 3 is definitely going to become my go to lip colour this Autumn. The blusher is a pale pink colour with looks really nice and natural, more of a toned down version of my Mac Ambering Rose.

Are you on the MUA train yet and do you have any of these products? If you have any comments or questions you can leave them below or chat to me on twitter!

Weekly Wants #2

Is it really friday already? Wow! So keeping on schedule, it's time for my second Weekly Wants post, all the stuff I've fallen in love with over the past 7 days and wish I could afford!

Oversized chunky knit cardigan - Glamorous, £44.99
Oh I'm so excited seeing all the Autumn clothes coming into stores! I love big cardigans and the aztec style pattern on this one would be great to just throw on over a plain outfit.

Cross embellished skater dress - Missguided, £26.99
You can never have too many black dresses and this one is just too cute, I love the floaty skirt and the cross detail on it just rocks it up a little bit - the cross trend seems to be here to stay and I don't mind at all.

Neon flats - H&M £12.99
Now these I am going to have to buy, I absolutely love the neon pop trend and they will brighten up any all black or dark coloured outfit.

Primed and poreless powder - Toofaced £22.00
I've heard a lot about this powder and I definitely want to try it out once my Maxfactor Creme Puff powder is finished.

Paco Robanne Black XS - Fragrance Direct £32.99
Anyone who knows me, knows that this is my go to perfume and I'm gutted that my latest bottle has run out. I can't currently afford a new bottle so I'm living with a tiny sample and the body lotion until my birthday!

Weekly shopping total - £139.96
Not as high as last week - I've improved my budgeting! I'll definitely be getting the neon flats next time I'm around H&M and the cardigan might have to come out when the weather gets cooler again.

I hope you like my weekly wants - let me know yours in the comments below or chat to me on twitter!

Stuff in the post!

Who doesn't love getting stuff in the post? I know I do, it brightened my mood up so much after I had to have a cold shower!

I had three packages to open, one was just a new iPhone charger, nobody wants to see that, but the other two were much more exciting.

W7 10 piece Professional Brush set
Rimmel 60 Seconds - Sky High*, Rimmel 60 Seconds - Rose Libertine*,
No. 7  Mirror Shine Lipstick -  Beehive*,
Maybelline Super Stay 18 hour Color - Chilli
Yes I love getting new stuff! The items with asterix next to them were sent to me by the lovely Nicola as part of my prize from her blog competition. I've tried the Beehive lipstick and I absolutely love the colour, it's a 'my lips but better' shade!

I've needed new make-up brushes for ages, as I've been using the same pitiful brushes for years and I use them for the wrong things and it's just a disaster. So now I'm very happy to have lots of brushes with this W7 set, looking forward to trying out the fan brush especially. All I need now are buffing and stippling brushes and I'm set!

The brushes and Maybelline lip colour were from a website called The Cosmetic House, which sells tons of discounted make up. I'm not in love with this Maybelline because the red is a little darker and more muted than it looked on the website, but I can tell you it definitely stays put! I had to scrub my lips ridiculously hard to get the colour off after I used the super stay balm. Maybe I'll learn to love the colour!

I hope you liked noseying through the stuff I got today, as always if you have any comments or questions you can leave them below, or chat to me on twitter!

Nail Haul!

Yeah so today I went a little bit crazy with the nail polishes. I went shopping with the intention of getting three - Models Own Utopia, Ibiza Mix and Hedonist and I ended up with nine... oops. But at least it's a good excuse to do a blog post!

Models Own
I'm very happy that I got Utopia, because it's such a gorgeous neutral colour and I did want to put Ibiza Mix over it, but it wasn't in stock :(. Then I got distracted from Hedonist because my friend recommended Pink Fizz. Eh. I'm not in love with it, it might be nice to try it over Utopia.

Now, these were supposed to be my only two purchases, but once I got into TK Maxx I saw some brilliant bargains that I couldn't pass up!

Essie
I'm a new Essie convert and when I saw three different colours for £9.99 I got very excited, and it was very difficult to choose a combination!

Two of these didn't have their name labels on started searching when I got home, so I actually thought that Ballet Slippers was Fiji at first but it is more of a peach sheer than pink.

True Love is just a gorgeous pink, from my Mum's reaction I think she might be stealing it. It's very thin - the picture below has three coats, but it works well.

Now Aperatif may not actually be Aperatif, but it's the best guess I could make out of the colours that TK Maxx sell. This is a really nice red, but the actual polish is really thick, which was my original problem with Essie. Once you can cope with the gloopiness it's worth it!

Nails Inc
Now with these I have a bit of buyers remorse. As happens sometimes with Nails Inc, the colours look so much nicer in the bottle than on your nails, but at £14.99 for four, I can't really complain. I guess the two that I do like outweigh the two that I don't.

I really like New Burlington Place, which is a bright shimmery red and Symons Street which is a shimmery teal, even though it's photographing more blue.

Wardour Mews is okay, like a glittery pinky bronze, I can't really describe it but I definitely have a similar one from Topshop that I prefer.

Then we come to Lexington Street... ugh. I really wanted to love this polish, I thought it could be a nice sparkly alternative to plain black when I'm feeling goffick but I just don't love it. It's gloopy and just doesn't sit on the nail nicely :/

Hope you liked my first blog post/haul - if you want to chat, agree or disagree with me you can do so in the comments or on my twitter!
